Palates & Pate' Preview Party Showcases Wareouse Turned "Wow!" 

When guests strolled past the mosaic murals and entered the newly-acquired brick warehouse on the Outreach Center’s downtown campus on November 6th, they had no idea that behind the doors would be a wonderful “New York loft-like” atmosphere.

This year’s Outreach Center fundraiser, Palates & Pate presented by IBERIABANK, honored its sponsors, artists and chefs at a Preview Party unlike any other held in our area.  More than 150 guests had the first opportunity to preview extraordinary artwork which will be auctioned at the November 20^th gala while meeting the artists in an intimate setting and enjoying scrumptious hors d’oeuvres. A private live auction of select art featuring Billie Bourgeois, Dutch Kepler, Emily R. Prinsep and Hope Hebert also took place.

The significance of showcasing the warehouse was to give a sneak peak into the Center’s mixed-use, mixed-income development slated to provide unique live-work spaces. Further plans for transforming the warehouse to provide a unique downtown housing solution will be unveiled in the near future, but trolleys riding around the Outreach Center’s campus showed donors the return on their investment today. For many of the attendees it was the first time they seen the scope and scale of the Center’s services and as the Bandry Land played under the moonlight in the Center’s amphitheatre, guests viewed the recovery homes for men and women rebuilding their lives, the New Leaf Garden, service center providing case management and counseling, community activity center, furniture workshop and the Signposts of Grace pocket park.
    
There are still tables available for the November 20^th gala featuring local celebrity emcee Ali Landry. Proxy bidding online will be available for the artwork and trip packages to exotic destinations including Cabo san Lucas, the Caribbean Islands and more.
