JOTC

Summer (pictured right), age 25, is one of many inspirational JOTC graduates, who through the recovery program transformed her life from substance abuse and hopelessness to a life of health, happiness and self-sufficiency.

“Drugs and alcohol had taken over my life and I was at the end of my rope. When I started this journey I felt lost & scared… I really did not think I was going to make it. I have changed tremendously since I have been here and I have the staff to thank for that. Accomplishing this for me means I can accomplish anything in life. My goals after graduation are to return home to raise my three children and to be a mentor to others beginning their journey to recovery. Now, I believe all things are possible.”

The Job Opportunity & Training Center was started in 1998 to help individuals on the difficult roads of homelessness, poverty, and substance abuse, rebuild their lives by providing job training and placement, transportation, food, lodging, counseling, life enrichment, and spiritual renewal.

While enrolled, individuals reside in one of the Outreach Center’s five recovery homes, with all their basic needs provided for, enabling them to focus on their personal recovery, finances, and strengthening of independent living skills. As part of the program requirements, graduates maintain employment and work in sectors ranging from oil production, manufacturing, construction and business.
